Introduction

In 2023, a large-scale modernization effort took fold to streamline warehouse operations and integrate its Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Warehouse Execution System (WES) at the largest site in the distribution network. The intent was to successfully deploy a scalable, SAP and Dematic-based solution that significantly enhanced supply chain visibility, automation, and military readiness.

The client faced growing pressure to modernize its aging software and hardware. With expanding supply chain demands across 70+ locations, a flexible, intelligent logistics system was paramount. The mission: to configure, deploy, and sustain an SAP-driven WMS integrated with a real-time execution layer (WES) tailored for mission-critical assets.

the Challenge

A legacy logistics environment lacked real-time inventory control, automation readiness, and compliance alignment, creating inefficiencies and operational risk across global distribution.

the solution

Luz Electi provided comprehensive Program and Project Management to design and deploy an SAP-based Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Warehouse Execution System (WES) integration.
Key deliverables included full SDLC planning, Dematic iQ Optimize integration, SAP EWM configuration, and audit-ready compliance documentation.

Key Lessons

Effective stakeholder alignment, portfolio-level visibility, and structured governance were central to success. Adaptive SDLC planning and disciplined change management allowed agility without compromising control.

The Impact

This deployment set a new standard for managing modernization at scale—balancing agility, compliance, and technical precision under unified PMO leadership.
